if you like vintage clothes, shoes and belts and you live in or near charlotte you have to go to hong kong on central ave. elizabeth has the coolest pieces and they are awesome prices. my friend whitney got a sequin blazer and a leather skirt her last visit. it is really hard to walk out of the store without something.

the big trend from this past season was the boyfriend jeans. i am sure you saw a pair on a celebrity (katie holmes was notorious for wearing them) current elliot makes great jeans in general so of course they would have the best boyfriend jeans. they are so so comfortable.

michael and i found a pair of milo baughman sofas. we want them so bad. they are covered in a cream fabric that has had a rough life, but we would have them recovered. probably in a patterned velvet. crazy i know. at the same store she has a th robsjohn gibbings dining room table. we would probably put some funky chairs with it. i hope we can get them. it would be a great start to our new nest.

i have a whole list of my must haves for the fall and this is definitely one. now will i get all my must haves. probably not. but that is not the point. a man’s rolex watch joins the list along with a blazer (preferably the row) balenciaga booties, golden goose leather jacket and biker boots (check check, already have both) the row leather leggings, white t shirts (alexander wang or the row) anything studded, great necklaces and rings (all worn at once of course) a printed scarf (bajras are amazing) and a great pair of skinny jeans (current elliot knows how to make some jeans)

so i was not quite sure about these omelle boots, but after trying them on i decided that they deserved a spot in my closet. as a girl you have to get some things for you and then some things for your guy. there are some trends in the fashion world that they are just not going to appreciate it, but if you like it, then you get it. you do not have to wear it around them. well that is what i thought these boots were going to be. one of my girl purchases but michael actually liked them. very very surprising.

poole shop just got a new shipment of alexander wang. both ready to wear and t by alexander wang which is his t shirt line. before i owned one of these tops i would have said the row makes the best t shirts, but now i have to say they are second best. yes they are completely different, but alexander wangs t shirts are incredibly comfortable. you honestly never never never want to take it off. i find myself sleeping in mine all the time. it is so hard to remove.

i guess you could say i have a top favorite designers list. i always go back and forth between them on who my favorite is. it always depends on the collections they come up with each season. nina ricci, chloe, stella mccartney, lanvin, brian reyes, erin fetherston are all on my list. i never really thought i had an all time favorite though. i finally realized i do. it is rodarte. they never have a collection that disappoints me. i am completely and totally obsessed with the piece from their fall 09 collection that reese witherspoon wore. i keep seeing it in magazines and it makes me want it more and more. i hope ruth bought it for the store so i at least have a slight chance of getting it. this was not reese’s first time wearing rodarte. she also wore a piece by them at the oscars, and she looked amazing there as well.

maybe it is the fact laura and kate are amazingly talented as to why i am obsessed with rodarte, but i think it is also the artist in me. their pieces are not just clothes, they are art and i appreciate every single thing they make.

so i do not even want to talk about wedding plans on here because i am tired of talking about it, thinking about it, worrying about it, dreaming about it, hearing about it, and the list goes on and on. but i will say i really really really hope i can somehow use peonies. i know they are spring flowers, but they are my all time favorite. who knew i would be getting married in january (miserable cold weather month) but i am hoping some place in the world will be growing peonies in january and they can ship them. cross your fingers for me.

next saturday we leave for ocean isle beach with the walker family. i am so excited. i can already picture myself under an umbrella with the twilight series in my hands. might not happen, but we can hope. then friday thru tuesday i am off to new york for work. then the next friday is coldplay. why is summer going by so fast. i do not approve.

i personally think the hangover is the funniest movie i have ever seen. i had leah quoting it before she even saw it, and now that she has seen it we may get on everyone’s nerves that are around us. i first saw it with michael and we died laughing throughout the entire movie. i then saw it again with my mom (yes my mom) brother and sister in law. it was just as funny the second go around. not to mention it is never a waste of time to watch bradley cooper. he has taken robert pattinson’s place. i know this is so hard to believe, but he has become my new obsession. but i still love my fiance way more (thats for you michael)

by the way this is where we are going for my bachelorette party in september. lets hope there are no roofies (or should i say groundies) tigers or babies involved.

i am sorry to say, but at this point we had been engaged for a little less than a week. we reenacted for leah. i always thought i would want someone to take pictures of my boyfriend proposing to me, but when it happened i was glad it was just us. last weekend we went down to charleston for memorial day and my sister’s birthday. on monday we went out on the beach all day. michael asked if i wanted to go downtown and grab a bit to eat before we hit the road. so we did. he was acting so weird the whole time. then we stopped and got some ice cream and he asks me if i want to take a walk by the water (which is so not michael) we end up sitting down and talking and i kept asking him if he was ready to go and he kept saying he just wanted to sit there a little longer. then finally he said we could go, but he said he had a question before we left. then i knew. he got down on his knee and asked me. i was so shocked and happy i started laughing. way to ruin the moment morgan.

growing up my hair got so light in the summer and ever since i have been dying it dark it has just been a disaster when it gets sun. i have never had a good experience trying to go back lighter with my hair color, but i decided to try it one more time. i went to this girl megan at theory salon that all the girls i work with go to. they rant and rave over how well she does color, so i decided to try it out. i showed her a picture of what i wanted, and i think we should all know by now when you show your hair dresser a picture, it probably is not going to look like that. well i underestimated her. she is amazing. she made it look natural and she could tell i was super low maintenance with my hair so she made it to where my roots are completely my natural color and it blends to the lighter color at my ends. it took her like four hours because of this crazy technique she used to do it, but like she said as she was doing it, it was well worth it in the end.

lemon(or lime)ade

the warm weather is here. my go to drink in the spring and summer is lemonade. i am obsessed with it and i crave it everyday. when i was younger my brother, sister and i had lemonade stands in the summer all the time.

a fun way to serve it to your guests is to put sugar on the rim of the glass or you can use a mortal and pestle to crush up lemon head candies and have that on the rim of the glass. thinly slice lemons and then put a few slices in the glass with the chilled lemonade and ice cubes.

another spring and summer favorite is limeade, especially cherry or strawberry limeade from sonic.
